We are a small farm family that enjoys growing and selling produce for you, our valued customer.!
Robbie grew up in the Cox's Mill area where he was the son of a local farmer. He has been a full time well-driller for the better part of forty years and farmed on the side. Currently however, the farming aspects of his home are taking over his full time priorities. Being in the well-drilling business has thoroughly aided the irrigation system used on the farm. He likes to hunt during his very minimum free time. The Farmers Market business suits Robbie very well, as he loves to get to the market and visit with all the other farmers selling their produce where can share helpful information with each other. He really enjoys the challenges in farming and takes much pride in growing the best produce that he can and is always very proud of what he brings to the market.
Janie was born and raised in Colorado where her parents were lifetime cattle ranchers. She moved to NC in the 1980s where she and her children lived in the Garner area and managed a large mobile home park for a few years. It was at that time she met her future husband Robbie Cox. They were married in 1990. Janie got a FED job with Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, where she worked for 23+ years and retired in 2005. She then joined the full time ranks of being the "farmers wife" and owned a retail market business at the Raleigh Farmers Market, where they market their own homegrown fruits and veggies from may through November. Her hobbies, when time permits, are raising quarter horse race horses that her son in Colorado trains and races for her.
Our experience at the Farmer's Market is not limited to the last two seasons however. Robbie has been selling produce on the wholesale line for many years. During the summer we pride ourselves on providing wholesale customers with many different watermelon and cantaloupe varieties. We have developed a customer base over the years that has extended with us as we moved to sell at our stand along with the wholesale line.
We hope to continue to provide you with what you require from us as your local farmer for years to come. Please get to know us, as we want to know you. Without your support none of this would be possible.
